AliKiba Biography

Ali Saleh Kiba (born 1986) is a Tanzanian singer-songwriter and football player. In 2017, he became director of Rockstar4000. On May 20, 2016, he signed a contract with Sony Music Entertainment.


Ali Kiba released his album Cinderella, which broke the record for the best-selling album in East African countries including Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda. He is best known for his hits Mwana, “Aje”, “Chekecha Cheketua”, “Cinderella”, “Nakshi Mrembo”, “Usiniseme”, “Dushelele”, “Single Boy with Lady Jaydee”, “Mapenzi”, “Yana Run Dunia “and” Macmuga”, and for his collaboration with R. Kelly and other African musicians on the One8 project.


His return after a three-year silence, he released the singles “Mwana” and “Chekecha”. Having won six awards at the Tanzania Music Awards 2015 and broke the record on Mkito.com for the most downloaded song of 2015.


Ali Kiba has 3 children from three women, and now he is married to Amina Khalef from Mombasa in Kenya who in February this year (2019) had their first child.


Ali's debut album and hit single 'Cinderella' became the best-selling record in East Africa in 2008 and his second album 'Ali k 4 Real' was released in 2009 with the mega-hits 'Nakshi Mrembo', ' Nichuum' and 'Usiniseme'.


He was later endorsed by mobile brand Airtel Africa along with Billboard's Most Influential Global R&B Artist of the Last 25 Years R KELLY and seven of Africa's other megastar artists.

Nominated for 'Best International Actor' by Black Entertainment Film, Fashion, Television and Arts Awards in 2009, Best East African Artist for African Music Awards in 2009, Winner for Best Zouk/Rhumba Music at the Kili Music Awards in 2012, Nominated for Best Screenwriter from Tanzania, Best Male Artist and Best Collaborating Music with Lady Jaydee at the Kili Music Awards in 2013 and Best East Africa Male by AFRIMA 2019.


Alikiba also received an offer to play for the Tanzania national football team and President Jakaya Kikwete of Tanzania met him in person to congratulate him on his talent and his invaluable contribution to Tanzania's music, art and culture.
