Douglas Condzo biography

Douglas Condzo is a photographer and filmmaker based in Maputo, Mozambique, working in the fields of fashion, documentary, portrait, and storytelling.

In 2019, his first short film entitled A Voz de um Pincel portrays pollution in the Hulene neighborhood, specifically about the Hulene dump and its impact on the local community, which was part of the official selection of CineEco, the International Environmental Film Festival of Serra da Estrela, the only festival in Portugal dedicated to the environmental theme, in its broadest sense.

In 2020 he was the winner of the FILMINHOS festival, organized by Maputo Fast Forward in Maputo, with his short documentary entitled Hair Masters where he makes a brief approach to migration.

In March 2021, he exhibits the photographic project Fragments at Eclectica Contemporary in Cape Town, in a brief approach to informal commerce in Mozambique and Africa.


In June 2021, she re-exhibits her project Fragments at the Young Blood Gallery in Cape Town. Condzo seeks to illuminate and realize moments of tenderness, complexity and beauty.
